It is well said that Istanbul is the City of Contrasts which connects 2 continents, modern versus traditional, where the old mosques stand proud next to the sky scrapers.
As soon as you get there, you will have that feeling of plenty, the streets are packed with pedestrians, markets, and vendors of all stripes, from all kinds of spices, fruits, sweets, as well as clothing and textiles, or household tools.
This city is colorful, loud, chaotic, well known for its traditional street fast food, perhaps the best fast food I have ever tasted, (I am a big fan of tantuni – spiced meat and herbs wrapped in a thin pita bread), and for its many kinds of sweets, like Turkish Delight or Lokum and Baklava, which I also love.

Wow, beautiful pictures and beautiful writing. Thanks, I was never convinced about Istanbul, but from what you’re saying, for sure it’s a must see!
