Rome, the “Eternal City”… I have visited Rome for the second time. First time was in March, few years ago. There are always so many tourists in Rome. But I’m still amazed by the history, the art, the ancient city and the architecture of the “eternal city”.
Here are some of the places that I liked most, also some of the most romantic:
Gianicolo is a hill from where you can admire a breathtaking and panoramic view of the city. After a rain that kept us in Trastevere, we arrived at Gianicolo and enjoyed an amazing view over the city.
Quartiere Coppede is a small district that captivated me with its unique architecture, which reminds me of Spanish old villas. Seems like a secret and hidden place comparing with all the iconic places of Rome.
Villa Borgheze Gardens offers a pleasant escape from the hectic streets of the city. At least in November we spent a pleasant afternoon walking and enjoying the silence of the garden.
Trastevere was my favorite place in Rome. Maybe because it reminds me of the smallest Italian cities: the narrow and cobblestone streets, with their colorful houses and restaurants.
Also, is good to know about “Domenica al Museo”, which means that in the first Sunday of the month the entrances for state museums and sites are free.
And the best part: the food!
Since I love pizza so much I couldn’t resist not trying few different types every day. The best pizza I ate at a small pizzeria, which serves pizza on the go – Alice Pizza. Also Pizzeria Romana (via del Governo Vecchio, 136, 00186 Roma RM, Italy) served pizza with bio ingredients.
