I never thought that I would find so many amazing reservations in Romania where nature has sculpted over the centuries unique shapes and structures. Just like a great artist. This is why when I visited The Red Ravine (Râpa Roșie) I was ravished by the beauty of this natural wonder.
Where is located The Red Ravine (Râpa Roșie)
The canyon is located in Transylvania, a region where you can find some of the most beautiful and traditional attractions to visit in Romania. As we reached Transylvania the landscape become more picturesque, greener and more authentic. Sebeș, a surprisingly beautiful town is located 4 km away from the Red Ravine. Following the way to the Red Ravine there is an unpaved road 1 km long which leads directly to the base of the canyon.

About The Red Ravine
The Red Ravine (Râpa Roșie) is an amazing rock formation beautifully sculpted by nature over the centuries featuring shapes of columns, pyramids, pillars aligned in rows. The canyon is an unique place of its kind in the country, this is why I will add it on the top attraction to visit in Romania.
The mix of red rocks and green idyllic hills create a wild and beautiful scenery, making an ideal place for hiking and spending some time into the nature.
Its fascinating red color gets more intense before sunset when the sunlight beautifully soaks up the red pyramids surrounded by the green hills.

Hi! Wonderful photos <3 Can I ask you how difficult it is to get from the end of the road to the point where you took your photos and how long did it take you? I’m planing a trip to Romania next week 🙂 Thanks in advance!

Hi Lea. From the parking spot it’s a footpath to the viewpoint where I took the photos. So, it’s pretty easy to reach it, no more than 10 minutes 🙂
