Checking in: Zaga Zaga located in Siret Delta, Romania
I have always believed that the time spent in the middle of the nature is the best therapy. Imagine a place surrounded by lots of greenery, woods crossed by the water, and the best part: wooden bungalows hidden by the trees and placed alongside Siret Delta. Zaga Zaga is nestled in Siret Delta, an oasis of tranquility that only the nature can offer
Zaga Zaga is a family owned business providing a distinctive type of accommodation in Romania, a restaurant (Cherhana), which serves among others, sturgeon and trout specialties, but which also hosts special events which are held in the middle of the nature.
Zaga Zaga was born from a great dream and a vision. Everything has started back in 2010, with a sturgeon and trout farm. Launched in 2016, the farm is the place where sturgeons, trouts and caviar are produced and farmed. But the great challenge was the development of a natural delta with over 82 hectares. In 2018 the dream became true, when it was possible to officially welcome the tourists with the bungalows and the floating houses.
Today, Zaga Zaga is an enchanting escape from the hustle and the bustle of the city and an ideal place for those who love the nature.
We stayed at a bungalow alongside the water, a perfect place to spend a relaxing time, enjoying all the charm the nature has to offer. The bungalow is very spacious, and it is made entirely by wood with large windows overlooking the trees and the lake. I really love the cosy feeling that a wooden interior brings to any room.
It was a magical feel to wake up in the morning and spend time on the deck of our bungalow. It was my favorite place to witness the breathtaking sunsets, enjoy a calm end of a day and even set a romantic dinner with a view. The entire place indulged that state of calm and tranquility only the nature can offer.
Accommodation at Zaga Zaga
Beside the bungalows there are also floating houses and a glamping area. The floating houses have their own terrace, and just like the bungalows the rooms are quite spacious which make them ideal for booth couples and families, since there is an extra bed in the attic.
The glamping is located around the concerts and festivals area. The yurt type tents are perfect for those who love the freedom and joy of bohemian summer days and nights.
The culinary experience
The eatery is called “Cherhana” and offers a variety of sturgeon and trout specialties produced in their own farm. “Cherhana” is located alongside the water, being surrounded by lots of greenery. The location is ideal for enjoying a good meal while admiring the beauty of the nature. We mainly served trout specialties which were really good.
Things to do at Zaga Zaga
The property itself is an oasis of calm and relaxation. The delta that was created there surrounded by vegetation and fauna is enough to provide that inner peace, calmness and comfort. The place is an ideal escape both for adults and children, for nature lovers and outdoor activities. I enjoyed the walks in the forest and picnics by the water, the farm animals and deer forest, the quiet mornings spent on the deck of our bungalow.
The farm animals was among my favorite places at Zaga Zaga. Besides deer, sheep and pony, I didn’t expect to find such a diversity of bird species, ostrich, even kangaroos. The children must be delighted with a place like this.
The boat rides as well, lead you through the most picturesque landscapes of Siret Delta, being among the most authentic ways to explore and enjoy the epic scenery it creates.
The list of things to do at Zaga Zaga can be filled by bike trails, having fun with friends and family at Adventure Park, laying by the infinity pool or having fun during the events and concerts are held there during the season.
All in all, Zaga Zaga was a memorable getaway, we felt refreshed spending time in this hidden paradise which we plan to experience again.
