We visited Traunkirchen in October when the fall colors transformed the landscape into something magical, just like a beautiful painting.

The dining area is an inviting space, cosy yet elegant, located on the shore of the lake, overviewing Traunstein mountain. There was no better way to end a well spent day, but sitting by the window and watching the lake with a glass of Rosé while savouring a Lake Trout Carpaccio.

With the half-board you will enjoy a gourmet breakfast and a unique four-course dinner at the Seaside restaurant.

Also, there are the award-winning restaurant Bootshaus, built on a boathouse, which serves first class regional cuisine, with a delightful view over Traunsee Lake. There is no classic menu, instead you can choose for a five, six or seven course menu.

The hotels’ owner is personally involved in the services offered, giving a personal touch to the guests. The entire concept of the hotel is the result of making everything with care and passion, which turns every stay into a true relaxing and enjoyable time.

There are lots of opportunities for strolling and for hiking nearby the hotel, the region being incredible rich in beauty and history.

A stroll in Traunkirchen is like wandering in a fairytale place. The nature there is amazing. `The town is nestled on a small peninsula surrounded by the mountains. The centrepiece of the peninsula is Johannesbergkapelle, a small chapel nestled on a hill dated to the 14th century. It creates a landscape like no other.

Another picturesque highlight, and perhaps the most popular is Schloss Ort, the church nestled on a tiny island of Traunsee Lake, in Gmunden.
