My last weekend visit in London was about looking for those authentic experiences London has to offer. I spent only two days in London, but I looked for those Londoner places that you cannot not falling in love with: romantic cafes, floral facades, afternoon tea, charming neighborhoods or the traditional fish and chips. All these reveal that English charm I read about in my favorite books.

Cheking in: Victory House Hotel
Victory House is a boutique hotel with cozy rooms located in a very animated side of London, right in the city center, in Leicester Square. It is an ideal hotel for people who are always young at heart and look for fun. The hotel’s location was ideal – we were closed to the underground which made the main sights we had planned to visit easily reachable.
I loved the interior of our room with the big windows that gives that cozy feel. The hotel is also decorated with black and white portraits belonging to the 20th century cinema artists, since Leicester Square is iconic for cinematic world.
One of my favorite things when I am traveling is the breakfast. I love to start the day with a rich and healthy breakfast, this is why I enjoyed the diversity of the one served at The Victory House Hotel.
Afternoon Tea at The Library, Marriott County Hall
The traditional Afternoon Tea at The Library, was the most authentic and pleasant experience which I recommend to anyone who visits London and wants to escape from the bustle of the city in a calm and pleasant Londoner place. Located in the Marriott County Hall, overlooking the Big Ben and the River Thames, I found at The Library that authentic English charm I read about in books and magazines. At the beginning we chose the favorite flavor of tea, then we were served with a selection of cakes, pastries, finger sandwiches and selection of scones. All were so delicious, but my favorite were the scones served with strawberry jam and Dorset clotted cream.
The rest of the time was spent exploring some of the most romantic and charming neighborhoods of London, Belgravia and Primorse Hill, afternoon walks alongside Thames overlooking London Eye, Big Ben or Westminster Palace and some shopping in the Covent Garden. Everywhere we found many floral cafes or floral boutiques with beautifully decorated facades. I loved this romantic side of London.
Another relaxing way to escape from the busy part of London is the Regent’s Park. The Queen Mary’s Rose Garden is one of the most idyllic part of the park, there are over 12000 roses which are truly impressive and smell divinely .
